All self tanners are not created equally. We’re here to help you find the most effective self tanner for your skin! Here are our 2 basic rules of thumb:
Step 1: Check the Ingredients!
Although some have the same ingredients, that doesn’t mean that they are the same.
Every self tanner contains DHA ( and of course many other ingredients in the tanning cocktail), but different brands use different concentrations. This dramatically effects the smell, application, color, and overall effectiveness.
We recommend using products that contain natural ingredients. You will want to avoid all of the “Ethylparaben, Butylparaben, Propylparaben, Isobutylparabens”, and the like.
Step 2: Its true, you get what you pay for (typically).
With some products, the ‘cheapy’ version works just as well as the expensive high end option. Well with self tanner, this is definitely not the case.
When it comes to your skin, you should put the money into it to get the results you deserve.
After all, your skin is the largest organ in your body and needs your help to keep it healthy and nourished!
These are the 2 main objectives when it comes to choosing your self tanners.
To recap: don’t settle for that cheap $5 bottle of self tanner from Walmart. If you cant make it into the salon for your spray tan, we advise you to spend a little extra money and splurge on that $25 bottle of tanner that has more organic and natural ingredients.
